Barbara Rubel, MA, BCETS is the Director
of the Griefwork Center Inc. located in Kendall Park, New
Jersey. Rubel is a recognized expert in the field of sudden
loss and traumatic grief. Rubel is the author of the best
selling book, But I Didn’t Say Goodbye: For Parents
and Professionals Helping Child Suicide Survivors and
the newly released 30-hour course book for Nurses, Death,
Dying and Bereavement: Providing Compassion During a Time
of Need. Barbara’s personal story of loss was featured
in the Emmy Award Winning Documentary, Fatal Mistakes,
narrated by Mariette Hartley. Barbara is widely published
and has been a guest on numerous television and radio programs.

techniques; 3) compare grief theories to support survivors
