The following behaviors are AGAINST THE LAW. A person who commits
these crimes can be arrested and prosecuted. Physical
Violence:
- Slap
- Punch
- Grab
- Kick
- Choke
- Push
- Restrain
- Pull hair
- Bite
- Pinch
- Spit
Sexual Violence:
- Unwanted sexual touching
- Forcing sex on an unwilling partner
- Demanding sexual acts that the partner
does not want to perform
- Hurtful sexual acts
Harassment, A pattern of:
- Uninvited visits or phone calls
- Following or stalking
- Constantly checking up on the partner
- Not leaving when asked
Destruction of Property:
- Destroying furniture
- Throwing things
- Damaging personal possessions
- Hurting pets
- Punching walls
Threats and Intimidation:
- Threatening to hurt the partner, the children,
family members and/or pets
- Verbal or non-verbal, direct or indirect
threatening
- Threatening gestures
- Using physical superiority to restrict
movement(such as blocking a doorway
- Driving recklessly
- Threatening to use weapons
- Interfering with partner’s attempt
to call for help – hanging up the phone, taking phone
away and/or disconnecting phone source.
